All that’s new and fit to spew! (Dragon style, that is)

Raising Dragons is the national #1 bestseller in youth fiction for the Parable Group stores (approx. 150 stores) for the month of November. It was ranked higher than many high profile books such as Shadowmancer and Wormwood (G.P. Taylor), Nightmare Academy and Hangman’s Curse (Frank Peretti), and all of the Left Behind for Youth Series (Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye). I am extremely grateful for this huge breakthrough. Thank you, Lord!

November tour: I had a wonderful tour just before Thanksgiving, traveling with my saintly wife, Susie, and my three youngest children. For my first stop, I visited Mount Vernon Presbyterian School in Atlanta and spoke to several groups of students, ranging from fifth to seventh grade. It was a delightful time, and the kids were great. We talked about being an author, the nuts and bolts of writing, and whatever came to their minds.

Several bookstores in Minnesota were kind enough to host book signings for me, four of the Northwestern stores in Minneapolis and Christian Book and Gift in Rochester. The personnel in each store were supportive and helpful, and we sold out all of their copies of Raising Dragons in every store as well as some of mine that I brought with me. It was a huge success!

For my final road stop, I met with fifth through eighth graders at the Anamosa, Iowa school system, about 300 students in all. Again, we had a terrific time talking about a whole range of subjects. I was very impressed with the behavior and enthusiasm of every group.

Finally, when I returned home, the Borders store in Oviedo, FL hosted a book signing, and we sold 34 books. Not bad at all. They said it was the most successful signing they had ever hosted.

A New Review:

Here’s an excerpt from Christianfictionreview.com’s review of The Candlestone:

Unlike Shadowmancer, which has attempted to claim the Christian Harry Potter moniker, this book really delivers. As a young reader, I would have loved this series. As an older reader, it's still a lot of fun.

Read the entire review at http://www.christianfictionreview.com/Reviews/thecandlestone.html

The Candlestone is going into a third printing! The second printing is already rushing out the publisher’s door, a version that includes chapter one of Circles of Seven. The third printing will also include a recap of Raising Dragons at the beginning, written in the voice of Bonnie Silver as she tells the story.
