Book Promotion Tour

My 2006 book tour is almost over. I spent the last two weeks in the great Northwest, including Seattle, Spokane, and British Columbia. It was great, but it was also exhausting. I’m looking forward to settling down into my writing season. Thank you to all who prayed for me during my tour.

This is a short update, simply because I am worn out. I’ll try to write a longer newsletter next time.

Testimony Time: If you would like your testimony included in my newsletter, please let me know how the Dragons in our Midst series has improved your spiritual life. I’ll choose one from the messages I receive during the month. The following is from a reader in New Zealand, edited for brevity.

I am 14 years old and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. I have loved reading since a young age and have always read Christian books to support my faith. This year my fathers business went into receivership, and it was in all the newspapers here in New Zealand. I felt my faith slip away and I felt completely lost. My mum bought me Raising Dragons a couple of months later for me to read on a our trip to Australia.

I was absolutely blown away with how amazing your book was! I have always had a fascination with King Arthur, and the way you captured Bonnie’s faith in that book was so amazing and inspired me not to give up! Ever since I have felt so much better! I feel ready for anything. In a way, I suppose I built up a shield of faith to protect myself, and that is all thanks to your first two books in the Dragons in our Midst series.

When we were away in Australia my little sister who is 11 couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t stop talking about this book. She asked me to read it to her, and before we knew it we were reading every spare minute we had.

Because I renewed my faith, I prayed hard for my Dad. He is working to get the business out of receivership, and we think it will happen. Thank you so much for writing a book that bought back my faith and allowed my sister and I and escape to a wonderful world of fantasy when we needed it most.

I am going to America in the Xmas holidays, which is exciting, and I’m saving one of your books to read on the plane. Thank you once again Keep writing with the same amazing techniques.
